Korda Distance Casting: Swivel 43 grams

As the name suggests: We designed this lead especially for long casts. The far forward center of gravity gives it a stable position in flight. And it ensures a very good self-hook effect.

The Distance Casting Swivel goes back to the initiative of Alan Partridge. Alan is an old school angler valued for his innovative fishing methods and long casting skills.

For years Alan teased our Korda boss Danny Fairbrass: "My leads fly further than your leads." One day Danny wanted to know for sure. The two agreed to meet by the water. First Danny cast with a slim, elongated Korda Long Distance lead. A rubber band was then attached at the height of the rod tip. Danny reeled in the lead, swapped his lead for one of Alan's, and cast again. Afterwards Danny was blown away: This time the rubber band flew off the roll - and behind it another 30 meters of string! Since then, Danny has been into this lead form of Alan. With the Distance Casting Swivel, he added them to our range.

“I love fishing in unobstructed waters at a long range feeder,” says Danny. "I then fish all three rods only one or two meters apart." A prerequisite for this technique is that the leads fly exactly straight. This is made possible by the shifted center of gravity of the Distance Casting Swivel Leads. These leads fly exactly where the angler wants them. "For this type of fishing," Danny concludes, "I can't imagine any other form of lead."
