The W10 Coastal Braided Line was developed specifically for all sea trout and saltwater anglers who have always wanted the ultimate braided line. Our innovative braid construction creates a main line that combines maximum knot and abrasion resistance with a super smooth surface. Made from high quality Japanese Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene (UHMPE) fibers with a 13x (12+1) design with 12 fibers woven around a central core (CORE) to create an extremely round profile with improved strength in comparison to 8X braided lines. The W10 Coastal Braid uses an "Advanced Ultra High PIC" construction with 56 weaves per inch for an even smoother surface and much higher abrasion resistance. In addition, the tight braid of "Advanced Ultra High PIC" ensures minimal resistance in the rod rings and therefore particularly long and precise distance casts. Coastal sea trout anglers require a mainline with extra stiffness to avoid wind knots caused by repeated casting into often fierce onshore winds. To achieve this, the W10 Coastal features a double Dura coating to give it more rigidity. The Dura-Coating gel process gives the braid a smoother, hydrophobic surface, reducing water absorption and reducing friction. To achieve maximum color stability, the W10 braided cord is soaked in dye tanks before it is then cured in the oven to "bake" the pigments. Finally, it is sealed with a double gel coating for improved longevity.
