Korda Flatliner Distance: Inline 43 grams

This lead has its origins in sea fishing, where it is very stable on the bottom due to its four flat sides. Thanks to the four side walls, this lead always falls on one of its flat sides and can hardly roll away. Its center of gravity shifted forward to the tip ensures that it achieves a very large casting distance for inline leads.

During their first test session with the then newly developed Flatliner Distance Inline, Danny Fairbrass and Danny Turtle caught over 90 fish in just four nights on a large Dutch body of water, around half of which weighed 20lb and more. Danny Fairbrass recalls, “On the first night we both caught some 20lb plus fish. Then I switched to a short stiff rig. In combination with the Flatliner Distance Inline, it immediately brought me various bites. My explanation was that the carp on this water were already familiar with braided leader materials.” According to Fairbrass, he only had one prototype of the Flatliner Distance Inline with him, and it was a 4oz one. So relatively difficult. But the short, stiff mono leader in connection with such a heavy lead – these carp didn't know that.

Fairbrass caught significantly more fish than Danny Turtle in this session. He had refused a stiff rig.

When fishing a Flatliner Distance Inline on firm ground such as gravel, sand or clay, the lead keeps the loop at the end of the mono leader off the ground. This gives the mono leader excellent flexibility. However, you should not fish stiff rigs with small particle baits. Because the stiff mono leader would limit the mobility of the small bait.
