Cormoran surf rod stand max.180cm

I ordered the product in spring 2016 for heavy heavy feeders on the Rhine. I was explicitly looking for a three-legged surf rod stand, as conventional, one-piece rod stands (ground spikes with rod rest) are difficult to set up on stony shores and it is therefore practically impossible to set up the rod high. I finally found what I was looking for with this surf rod stand from Cormoran! POSITIVE: The rod stand can be set up very quickly and is almost self-explanatory. All three telescopic legs can be extended long and steplessly. By pushing the front cross brace up or down, the width of the front legs can be increased. The lower bar with the two cup holders for the rods can be moved freely on the telescopic leg, so that the rods can be placed "even higher". In addition, both the lower and the upper rod holders can each be extended by up to approx. 15 cm. The surf rod holder can be set up on almost any surface: gravel, sand or in a stone pack. Due to its low weight, it can be conveniently transported in the rod bag. NEGATIVES: The processing quality is unfortunately only mediocre. Although the stand is very light thanks to the aluminum, the telescopic legs bend slightly under heavy loads. In addition, the upper strut of the rod rest is crooked as soon as you tighten the fastening screw. It is very important and REQUIRED in any case to weigh down the surf rod stand! For this I usually hang a fabric bag filled with stones on the extra hanging hook at the top. Otherwise the stand will immediately tip over to the side. CONCLUSION: Considering the low price of just under 50 euros, a recommendable product for setting up your rods safely and steeply. There is definitely one point deducted for the partly poor processing quality.
