Petri Heil at the Bostalsee!
Zander, pike, perch, eel and carp - if you fish at Bostalsee, southwest Germany's largest recreational lake, you can look forward to an excellent fish population.
We are giving away a stay at the warmly run VICTOR'S SEEHOTEL WEINGÄRTNER for fishing days at the idyllic reservoir in the north of Saarland. More information on our Instagram- or Facebook Profile.
With a surface area of an impressive 120 hectares and a maximum water depth of around 18 meters, the Bostalsee is not only Southwest Germany's largest recreational lake, but also an excellent place for anglers. A good water inlet and outlet that brings enough food to the spawning areas of the lake, annual stocking measures and the installation of spawning aids ensure a high fish population. Predatory fish such as zander, pike, perch and catfish feel particularly at home here and some grow to a considerable size. Other species of fish such as tench, brook and lake trout or brook trout also cavort in Bostalsee.
After a successful day of fishing, the family-run VICTOR'S SEEHOTEL WEINGÄRTNER welcomes you to enjoyable relaxation. The feel-good place is only a stone's throw away from the lake and is the ideal starting point for fishing magnificent specimens from the lake every day or simply enjoying the idyll of the Saar-Hunsrück nature park region. This is also one of the trendiest hiking regions in Germany. The lake alone is accessed by a hiking trail that is almost seven kilometers long.
Whether hikers or anglers - the four-star hotel takes care of all its guests with numerous amenities. The indoor swimming pool including whirlpool and the wellness area with sauna as well as the VICTOR'S ROMANTIK SPA promise hours of bliss – a special refuge for beauty with a selected spa menu.
WEINGÄRTNERS GENIESSERSTUBEN invite you to linger – five charming rooms with a sun-kissed terrace. The fireplace room impresses, especially in winter, with a crackling fire in the open fireplace. The fine Alsatian parlor provides cosiness for smaller groups. The herb parlor welcomes its guests in a modern country house look, while the rustic inn invites you to linger after the meal.
In all rooms, guests can taste original Saarland specialties as well as modern creations, which chef Waldemar Oks and his team always refine with freshly picked herbs from the in-house herb garden. In addition, there are the best wines from the region, which have it all ecologically. After all, many well-known wineries are not far away, whether in France, Luxembourg or on the Moselle. The next morning, a rich breakfast buffet sweetens the start of the day for guests, before anglers head back down to the lake with the words "Petri Heil - Petri thanks".
