Sonubait's Halibut Pellets - 6mm

Halibut pellets are excellent baits for all big fish, especially barbel and chub.

Made from the highest quality fishmeal and rich in fish oils, these heavy pellets will hold their shape and release flavor into the water of your spot over a long period of time.

These Black Halibut Pellets can be fed dry per basket. A common way is to use the 4mm version in a maggot basket which allows the odor and some pellets that fall out to be washed over the hookbait downstream.

They can also be used with a mesh basket or river basket by simply soaking them in water. To do this, place the desired amount in a bait box and pour just enough water over it to cover the outside of the pellets. Then shake well. Then give the water 30 minutes to be completely absorbed by the pellets, shaking them well every 5 minutes so that the water is evenly distributed over the pellets. The pellets will soften slightly so they can be pressed into a mesh basket.

The speed at which they release from the mesh basket can be influenced by squeezing them harder to stay in the basket longer. In general, at the beginning of the fishing day, you should only push the pellets lightly into the basket, as the aim is to create a feeding area with bait, which works better if the pellets can be released from the basket more quickly. As the day progresses you can then create competition among the fish for the bait by slowing the rate at which the pellets come out of the basket.
