At Korda, we've always emphasized that we want to offer a smarter, better way to products that are already on the market from other companies that don't meet our standards. Just copy, pack and sell - that's not our thing.

With the Micro Rig Swivels, we actually had no intention of offering our own product. There were already enough other companies with these little vortices. But none of them were provided with a non-reflective coating. An unimportant detail you mean? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! It is precisely this point that can make the decisive difference.

That showed up when we recorded the sixth part of our Korda Underwater DVD. Carp were deterred by the glitter of the swivels. It wasn't the hook that frightened her, because it was covered in a plastic fake Bloodworm. It was amazing how the fish turned away at the last moment just as they were about to take the bait. Mind you: We used 15lb fluorocarbon for the leader. So it can't have been because of that. Our only explanation: It was the glitter of the vortex that put them off.

Micro Rig Swivels are perfect for the so-called claw rig and the D-rig. They offer better hooking action than a rig ring because they allow the bait to spin. This makes it easier to screw in the hook, it finds a better hold in the fish's mouth.

But what does an assembly with the Micro Rig Swivel look like? We tie a small hair to one eye of the Micro Rig Swivel. Now we press our boilie over this eye until even half of the central vertebra disappears in the boilie. Now only the other end of the vertebral body and the opposite eye sliding on the D or hook shank are exposed. Believe us: This montage is extremely catchy!
