Innovations in the rod and reel sector
In 1973, with the introduction of the Fuji rings in Europe, CORMORAN completely replaced the wire / metal rings that had been customary up to then within a year. The rod brand "BLACK STAR", the first telescopic rod with short pitch, black color and Fuji rings was introduced. The next groundbreaking step can be seen with the introduction of the first broad range of carbon fiber rods on the market - all under the brand name "KUNNAN". This introduction heralded a completely new era. "ROTARY". The first free spool reel in the world. The concept used in the "ROTARY" was the basis for the first bite indicator free-wheeling reel with an integrated electronic bite indicator. CORMORAN ELBAS - still an absolute classic today.

Innovations in the cord sector
CORMORAN has also developed the decisive innovations of the last 20 years in the line segment and thus shaped the market: CORTEST Super Match. With this cord, CORMORAN broke the previous sound barrier in terms of load capacity by a good 20%. CORTEST Super Match was stronger than all monofilament lines of the time and has not yet been surpassed by any monofilament line. CORASTRONG. The evolution of fishing lines began with the first braided Coramid spinning line (registered trademark of CORMORAN). CORASTRONG is the synonym for braided lines. CORTEST-UFS. The first invisible fishing line was introduced by CORMORAN. CORTEST-UFS (ultra fast sinking) made of fluoro carbon still fascinates the fishing world today.

CGS - chemically sharpened point. Another revolution from CORMORAN. Carbon steel hook with chemically sharpened tip - ultra-sharp and extremely durable thanks to a new special process. The CGS technology made it possible for us to establish completely new hook shapes - the “target fish hooks”, nowadays everyone is familiar.

Encouraged by the ban on live bait fish, CORMORAN brought an artificial bait program onto the market under the slogan "The bait fish is dead, long live the bait fish" that was deceptively based on nature. To this day, this program stands for success in artificial bait fishing under the name "CORA Z".
