In the Röhn near Dermbach in Thuringia lies the small town of Brunnhartshausen in a picturesque landscape. You can fish there at the Steinbach, where brown and rainbow trout feel particularly at home. The section managed by the local fishing club is 2,5 km in length from the end of town to the Steinberg-Mückenhof road.
The Steinbach follows its natural winding river course and thus has flat sections with strong currents, washed-out channels and deep pools. No wonder the creek is listed as salmonid water.
4 to 6 fly rods are well suited, with which you can be successful even with simple roll casts. However, the challenge is more of finding a suitable spot that allows you to cast the fish without scaring it. In order to introduce the youngsters to this fun and sport, Bernd Möller from the Brunnhartshausen fishing club organized youth fishing. Angelplatz.de was very happy to support this with bait and rods. On top of that there were DVDs for further education and inspiration.
